With the winter vacation approaching, safety comes first. In order to effectively enhance students' awareness of safety precautions during the holiday and ensure that all teachers and students have a peaceful and harmonious Spring Festival vacation, the Senior High School Department of our school organized all classes to carry out a variety of forms and rich content of winter vacation safety education on February 9th.
First and foremost, this safety education activity, with the theme of 'Happy Holidays, Safety by Your Side', was uniformly arranged by the Senior High School Department, meticulously planned by each grade, and specifically implemented by each head teacher.
In addition, the forms of safety education are diverse in that safety education becomes 'alive'. Besides the theme class meetings, each class conducted in-depth discussions on part-time safety, travel safety, and mental health based on social hotspots. Also, some classes designed practical assignments for checking potential safety hazards at home, such as fire safety and electricity usage. Additionally, in today's flag-raising ceremony, student Jin Ruixian from Class 206 of Senior Two gave a speech under the national flag about winter vacation safety.
Moreover, the content of safety education was comprehensively focused on the risk points during the holiday. Meanwhile, the class meetings of each grade closely revolved around the safety issues that are prone to occur and frequently happen during the winter vacation, with the following key points highlighted:
Travel Safety: Emphasize compliance with traffic rules, do not take illegal operating vehicles, and be cautious of slipping in rainy and snowy weather.
Home Safety: Use electricity, gas and fire properly, especially during winter heating to prevent fires and carbon monoxide poisoning.
Internet Safety: Surf the Internet civilly, be vigilant against online fraud and bad information, and arrange online time reasonably to avoid addiction.
Social Safety: Guard against injuries from fireworks and firecrackers, stay away from dangerous waters, avoid going to crowded places alone, and enhance awareness of preventing abduction and infringement.
Health Safety: Pay attention to food hygiene, prevent winter infectious diseases, maintain regular schedules, and strengthen physical exercise.
Mental Safety: Provide holiday mental adjustment guidelines, publish school psychological counseling hotlines, and encourage students to seek help proactively when encountering troubles.
In a nutshell, safety is the fundamental principle of education. Therefore, not only is this safety-themed education campaign carried out by the Senior High School Department a concentrated dissemination of knowledge, but also the creation of a safety culture. In the meantime, a peaceful winter vacation begins with education and is achieved through habits. Accordingly, the Senior High School Department will continue to integrate safety education into the entire process of teaching and learning to ensure the healthy growth of every student.
